Biography

Daniel is a partner in our Zurich office and a leader of our retail and consumer packaged goods practices in Europe. He advises leading grocery and non-food retailers across Europe on operations, advanced analytics, category management, and strategy.

His recent client projects have included:

  • supporting a leading European retailer in a review of its portfolio of formats and their individual strategies
  • helping a European hypermarket chain to boost customer satisfaction and make its in-store processes more efficient by refocusing on customer needs, implementing lean techniques, and improving labor scheduling
  • working with a leading convenience format in Western Europe and a leading grocery chain in Eastern Europe to introduce a new category-management process driven by big data and covering assortment, price, merchandising, and procurement
  • advising a leading European grocer on a new customer-centered management system to improve the quality of its fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, and bakery products.

Daniel also contributes to McKinsey’s knowledge development, and has published a number of articles on retail topics.
